Q4 Starts Today. Finish Something Before You Start Something.

It's October 1, which means somewhere a marketing team is in a conference room right now saying "okay, what else can we launch before the end of the year?" We know because we've been that team.
Q4 has a way of turning into a panic buffet. The budget has to get spent, the holiday calendar is already crowded, somebody saw a competitor try something on LinkedIn and suddenly there are nine new initiatives on a whiteboard. Every one of them sounds reasonable on its own. Together they guarantee that none of them get done well.
So here's our pitch for the next 13 weeks: finish things.
That landing page that's 80% done since August. The email sequence nobody turned on. The case study the client already approved that's sitting in a folder. The brand guidelines doc that half the team has never opened. Most businesses have more unfinished good work lying around than they have bad ideas, and finishing it costs a fraction of what starting something new does.
Finishing also does something for your team that starting never will. A launched project gives people a real win to point to before the year ends. A pile of half-started ones just follows everyone into January, where it becomes next year's guilt.
This doesn't mean ignoring new opportunities. If something genuinely timely shows up, chase it. But try a simple rule this quarter: before anything new goes on the calendar, one thing already in progress has to go live or get cut for good. No more maybe pile.
Nobody remembers how many things you started in Q4. They remember what actually showed up. Make that list longer.
